The effects of alcohol in the bathroom
Let’s face it: we like our Friday nights with a cold beer or a good glass of wine. We do know it’s not the healthiest choice, so everything in moderation. Of course.
Did you know that drinking alcohol also affects your skin? Alcohol will widen the blood vessels and as a result fluids will spread through the body differently than usual. Are you familiar with those puffy eyes and red face after a night out? You now know you can blame the beer.
Another nasty side effect of alcohol is that the moisture balance goes out of whack, which makes for dry skin. Dry skin is a perfect place to start for wrinkles and we really do not want that to happen, right?
Have you ever looked at the list of ingredients of a skincare product? You will probably find different kinds of alcohol in there. You may be asking yourself: what about Kaerel products? Kaerel does use small amounts of alcohol and always in combination with natural oils. The alcohol that we use provides stability of the product, gives a refreshing feeling and, when paired with the natural oils absolutely, is the opposite of drying. No worries there!
Did you know that some variants of alcohol actually lock in the hydration? They have an oily structure and low irritation levels, for example Cetearyl Alcohol, which is processed in Kaerel facial cream.
Alcohol is a versatile ingredient that is capable of having positive side effects, as long as it is used with care. Let’s just say: cheers !
