Does your skin feel sore after shaving?
You’re not the only one. 40% of all men regularly experience a sore skin after shaving. Most of the men get a burning feeling after shaving, or red skin or even little wounds. And an irritated skin, of course, is not something you wish for. But why does the skin get irritated after shaving? Kaerel will tell you in this blog.
Why does the skin get irritated after shaving?
Gents, shaving has an enormous impact on your skin. When you shave, you literally scrape off a piece of your skin. But there are more factors at play:
- Shaving a dirty, not cleansed skin. Germs will irritate the skin.
- Irregularities on the skin, like pimples or ingrown hairs.
- Hard, rough hairs, shaven off with to much strength.
- A blunt razor.
How can you prevent a sore skin?
Taking good care of your skin, before, during and after shaving is key. Make sure your skin is properly cleansed, the hairs are soft and use a sharp razor blade.
Look at irregularities on the skin and take care of them. You will see the soreness will be a lot less.
What is the best way to cleanse your skin?
The best way to cleanse your skin is with water. Of course you can also use a soap or showergel to cleanse. But, if you do so, be aware that soap will make the skin drier.
Do you have irregularities on the skin which make shaving more difficult?
Use a facial wash or a scrub. A scrub takes care of ingrown hairs, it will loosen them from the skin. Using a scrub once a week is good enough. Unfortunately Kaerel does not yet have a scrub in the product line, hopefully soon!
How can you shave your skin and your beard properly?
