9 easy tips to contribute to a greener planet
You probably know the feeling. You pick up the newspaper, open your news app or Facebook on your phone and there it is again. The guilt. Every damn media outlet wants you to know how bad our planet is doing. And it is not doing well, as you know. It makes you feel guilty, and you start asking yourself: what am I actually contributing to the future of this earth? How sustainability is my wardrobe? And why am I still eating meat? It drives drive you crazy. Sometimes it’s good to keep it simple, because being a man does not equal being a superman (unfortunately). For that reason, Kaerel listed a few easy tips to get rid of the guilt, and do good at the same time.
1. Take short showers
Take only 3 minutes instead of 10 or even 15 (!) minutes. Saves energy and therefore money. You might like something like, ‘I need that time to wake up!’ Well, see tip no. 2.
2. Take cold showers
Yes, it is cold, but the benefits are great. You’re awake immediately and your immune system loves it. It’s also a lot better for your skin, your blood vessels and muscles. A huge boost to start your day.
3. Skip meat at least one day a week
No compensating the next day! See for some inspiration Lisa goes Vegan.
4. Use your bike instead of your car
That will whip you into shape straight away, which saves you a trip to the dreaded gym. Take your bike or take a walk. Oh and remember: ‘It’s raining’ does not count as an excuse. On trend tip for the people in Amsterdam: rent an electric scooter at efelyx.nl
5. No plastic cups
Take your own reusable water bottle [link to blog with various brands (good for link building)] with you and you’re all set. Environmentally friendly and a lot more stylish too.
6. No straws
But who drinks beer with a straw anyway?
7. Do not wash your clothes after one time wearing it
Not every item of your wardrobe needs to be washed after a single use. Your jeans stays as new by washing it as little as possible. These days you also have some great sustainable detergents, like Marcel’s Green Soap and Seepje. One thing though: those boxer shorts and socks are the exception. Mind your surroundings ;).
8. Take your own bag when shopping
You don’t need another plastic bag. Take one of those linen ones you see everywhere on the streets! Prevent using plastic bags as much as possible. To help you out, Kaerel now sells beautiful grey linen bags. Strong, natural material and a great stylish look too.
9. Use Kaerel!
A slam dunk right there. With Kaerel you can be sure of doing good to the planet and doing good to your skin. No micro plastics, just plants. Simple as that.
That doesn’t sound too difficult, right? Then go ahead and get right of that little nagging voice of guilt and do something that makes a difference!
